A Bit About Me

I am a senior editor at Skyhorse Publishing, a New York City–based independent publishing company with more than ten imprints that has grown incredibly over the past decade. I work with both fiction and nonfiction at Skyhorse—specifically cooking, lifestyle, and some young adult and picture books.

In addition to editing full time for Skyhorse, I have offered freelance editorial services and have spoken about traditional publishing and careers in publishing at colleges and conferences. If I'm not reading, writing, editing, or talking about books, it's probably because I'm eating or hanging out with my little boy. (Although I frequently multitask.) There's a special place in my heart for coffee, cookbooks, and quality time spent in kitchens. I'm not often the cook in the kitchen, but I enjoy being part of the process, though admittedly my help is often limited to sitting on a nearby stool/step and talking at you while you do the cooking. You can earn my adoration with coffee, popcorn, and/or ice cream.

Before moving to New York in 2012, I was a content developer/editor at an educational book production company in Pennsylvania. In the past, I have solved word puzzles, folded tiny baby clothes, supervised book sellers, and checked groceries. I graduated from Wilkes University with a bachelor's degree in communications/journalism.

After spending some time in New Jersey, I returned to northeastern Pennsylvania in the spring of 2018 with my husband, Matt, a trained chef who helps keep me grounded and well-fed. We have one child, Cooper Reece, who enjoys reading the same books over . . . and over . . .  and over  . . . and over. No idea where he gets that from! ;)

A collection of quotations about food, kitchens, cooking, and sharing a meal with those you love. This one's special; I am all about these things and I was able to put it together with my husband.
